Queensland wild weather: BoM warns flash-flooding, powerful wind gusts expected

EWN Significant Weather Forecast Map

Emergency services are on standby with flash-flooding and powerful wind gusts expected to hit south-east Queensland from today, but it will not be as widespread as first predicted.

The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) said a trough was moving faster than expected, slightly reducing the threat of heavy intense rainfall from Fraser Island to Brisbane's northside.

But the bureau warned drenching falls and damaging winds were still set to lash areas from Brisbane's CBD and southern suburbs through to the Gold Coast.

How to Prep for a Summer Power Outage

Sometimes people think that a summer power outage is easier to deal with than a winter one. After all, in the summer, you don’t have to worry about freezing to death, which is a very real threat during a long-lasting winter outage.

However, a summer power outage carries its own set of problems. Foremost are heat-related illnesses and the higher potential of spoilage for your food.

Being Prepared means being responsible for your well-being during a disaster... small or large, short term or long term

norcal-storm

The circumstances sound familiar... whether it's bushfires, wild weather, storms, local flooding etc people get caught off-guard and left stranded and unprepared during emergencies and disasters, it doesn't matter where you live in the world the conditions and resulting effects are very similar but how you fare through it will be totally reliant on how you have prepared...
